If you’ve never heard of a World of Warcraft ninja before, chances are you may have run into one and not even known it. Sometimes referred to as ninja looters, the term basically means someone that takes advantage of loot that is not theirs. It’s pretty frustrating to get owned by a WoW ninja, but you can turn that around by learning some of their techniques. If you’ve ever wanted to try this, be forewarned that they are not well respected by their peers, but you can get a lot of loot this way.
Not all World of Warcraft ninjas are overt. Sometimes, you’ll notice that there is a member of your group that always puts in “need” even when you know for a fact that they don’t particularly need that item. They’re stocking up and taking advantage of you at the same time. Other WoW ninja tactics include leading a looting party, and then switching to master loot right before the end, so that they can take advantage of all of the loot for themselves. This is probably the most irritating kind of ninja.
The sneakiest World of Warcraft ninjas will come in while you are busy fighting and take things while you are tied up. For example, they may raid a chest you are protecting. Again, this is very annoying. The game does have some built in protection from WoW ninjas, and over time, they will end up losing points, or they may have their account completely deleted. If you decide to try this, take precautions and try not to take advantage of your fellow players too often.
